This was a real tie (not a clip on or pre-tied fake) that seemed to be made of good sturdy, attractive material. I have no problems with the quality of the tie. The only issue I have is that it is not maroon, but purple. A royal darkish purple. Not even remotely reddish. We purchased it for the Midnight Harry Potter party at the local bookstore and it passed, but other ties were maroon and looked better. In summary: good quality tie but not correct Gryffindor colors.

It is a real tie and is good enough for my kids’ costumes. However, it is not a licensed Harry Potter item (just a good knock-off).

I gave this item to my daughter as part of a Hermione costume since she likes to dress up and play out scenes from Harry Potter films. It seems to be durable enough, and according to my daughter, it is just like the ones in the movies.

I ordered because I was having a hard time finding a CHILDS TIE so I ordered 1)its purple 2)its a regular ADULT TIE.
so my 4 yr cant wear it either. It does made a difference.

This is a very good tie! Lots of people say the color is too purple. The color is a little purple but it still looks like a griffindor tie. It goes very well with your Harry Potter costume and you look great. It looks like the tie from the hp movies. Make sure you know it is a kids tie! If you get your harry potter costume, make sure you get a wand and practice your spells(Accio wand!). I can’t wait for the Deathly Hallows! The reason I only give it 4 stars is because the tie is a little purple!
